WHAT DOES THE COLOR GREEN TRULY MEAN


YES, everyone that has CEREBRAL PALSY knows that we wear a GREEN RIBBON to show our pride for our disability and for community but do you guys know what it truly mean. I had an idea that it must have something to do with STRENGHT AND COURAGE but it means much more than that.   “Has healing power and is understood to be the most restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view. Green can help enhance vision, stability and endurance.”
Not that, I’m not religious person but any means but I’m trying my best to understand religion more. While looking up what THE COLOR GREEN MEANS, I came across on what THE COLOR GREEN MEANS to the BIBLE I found It very interesting that the COLOR GREEN MEANS: “Green is obtained by mixing Yellow (trials) with Blue (Word of God). Therefore, the biblical meaning of color Green is immortality. (The leaf shall not wither –(psa 1:3). Green is also symbolic of resurrection which we see each Spring. ... The resultant color meaning in the Bible is Royalty or priesthood.”
The whole reason why I’m writing this blog entry is that yesterday I went for a ride with my parents (like we do every weekend). We past, this house we have past many times before but this day I notice something different or that never realize. Out on the house was a flag, (you know one of flags that people put by their door make it look nice or represent something special to the family that lives there, such a sports team or the LGBTQ pride flag). This wasn’t that, it was a white flag with THE GREEN RIBBON on it. I was so “SPURPRISED” to see this but felt HONORED to see THE GREEN RIBBON that I have so much pride for flying in the wind like other flags do.
This got me curious does “MY GREEN RIBBON” stand for something else. When came home I did some research on the “GREEN RIBBON”.  What I found all these “RIBBON” that have millions of different meaning, each “RIBBON” has MULTIPLE meaning. Here is what “MY GREEN RIBBON” stands for: Adrenal Cancer, BiPolar Disorder, Bone Marrow Donation, Bronchiolitis Obliterans (BOS), Cerebral Palsy, Childhood Depression, Dwarfism awareness, Depression, Environment, Eye Injury Prevention, Fanconi's Syndrome, Fibrodysplasia Ossifican's Progressiva, Freedom, Gastroparesis, Glaucoma, Growth & rebuilding, Kidney Cancer & disease, Kidney Donation, Leukemia (Alt Orange), Literacy, Living Organ Donation, Manic Depression, Mental Health, Mental Illness (Bi-Polar), Mental Retardation, Missing Children (alt yellow), Mitochondrial Disease, Nephrotic Syndrome, Neural Tube Defects, Neurofibromatosis, Organ Donation, Organ Transplant, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, Pruned belly Syndrome, Safe Driving, Pedestrian Safety, Save Darfur, Spinal Cord Injury and research, Stem Cell donor and Research, Tissue Donation, Traumatic Brain Injury, Von Hippel Lindau and Worker Safety.”

GREEN to me doesn’t mean JEALOUSY OR MONEY to mean. GREEN MEAN the strengths to hold my head high to say I have CEREBRAL PALSY and I may have had many challenges in my past and a head of me but the challenges have made me who I am and will continue to make me who I am.

GIVING MYSELF A PURPSE

Hi everyone the work started off with a bang yesterday with NATIONAL CEREBRAL PALSY DAY, I hope everyone had a great special day. Today is another special day for myself in the Cerebral Palsy Community, as it is my 3rd anniversary of taking a big step in the community. I started what was first called WORKOUT WITH CEREBRAL PALSY (CP). Let me first tell you about what lead me to do this. My whole life I had trouble seeing the Cerebral Palsy within myself from basically being the first child with known physical disability in the school system I grow up in. MY JOURNEY TO FINE WHO I AM AS A ADUT WITH CP

After, three years on this journey of mine to understand apart of myself better. After many groups, pages, blogs. Making friendship that will last a lifetime or last a moment in time. After, trying so hard to please people but in the end feeling that I myself had to be like others when I always told others to be themselves.
